Adjusting the URL of Your Embedded Locator to Pre-filter, Highlight Areas, or Directly Link to Specific Stores

Learn how to modify your Store Locator link to directly apply filters, search specific areas, or showcase individual locations for tailored sharing.

Using our Store Locator on your website? Sometimes you might want to share a link that already applies certain filters, searches a specific area, or highlights a particular location. This guide will teach you how to craft these specialized links for sharing. These tailored links are perfect for one-time sharing or temporary promotions. However, if you wish to have a version of the locator on your website that is always pre-filtered, consider creating a separate embedded version with a modified embed code. Now, let's dive into creating those shareable links!

Apply Specific Filters:

Whether it's store categories, product availability, or other criteria, you can customize your link to display results based on these tags/filters you have set up using the tags parameter. Simply ensure the tags match the tags you have added to your locations.

Example Format:

  • To spotlight stores with vegan products:
    https://yourwebsite.com/your-locator-page?tags=vegan products
  • To feature both bookstores and cafes:
    https://yourwebsite.com/your-locator-page?tags=bookstore,cafe

Tip: When using your locator, as you set desired filters on the locator, the browser's link will update. Simply copy this new link for sharing!

Share a Link to One Specific Store:

Each store has a unique ID. When you select one, the browser's link will refresh with this ID, perfect for direct sharing.

Example Format:
For a store with ID 123456789, the link becomes:
https://yourwebsite.com/your-locator-page?location=123456789

Tip: When using your locator, as you click on/select stores, the url auto-updates. Pick the store, then copy and share your link to share a direct link to a specific store. It's that straightforward!

Start with a Predefined Search:

Guide your visitors directly to a search for a specific city or area by using the locate parameter.

Example Format:

  • To initiate a search in Paris:
    https://yourwebsite.com/your-locator-page?locate=paris
  • Or to begin in postal code 54321 in Los Angeles, USA:
    https://yourwebsite.com/your-locator-page?locate=54321,LA,USA

Combine Options

Tip: Combine these instructions for a fine-tuned link!
Want to display cafes in Paris offering vegan products? Here's a suggestion:
https://yourwebsite.com/your-locator-page?tags=vegan-products,cafe&locate=paris
