Adding a store locator to your Joomla site? This guide covers using a Custom HTML module in Joomla 4 and 5. 🎯
What is Storepoint?
Storepoint is a store locator widget that makes it easy to add a searchable location finder to your Joomla website. Use it as a store locator, dealer locator, or multi-location map.
Here's what makes it great:
- Easy to customize. Match your Joomla site's branding in minutes.
- Powerful search. Visitors can search by address, zip code, or use automatic geolocation.
- Filters and categories. Help visitors find exactly what they're looking for.
- Simple location management. Add locations via the dashboard, import from a spreadsheet, or sync from Google Sheets.
- Works beautifully on mobile. Fully responsive out of the box.

Step 1: Get Your Embed Code
- Log in to your Storepoint dashboard
- Click Embed in the left sidebar
- Copy your embed code snippet
Step 2: Add It to Your Joomla Site
- Log in to your Joomla admin panel
- Go to Content → Site Modules (or Extensions → Modules)
- Click New and select Custom (or "Custom HTML") as the module type
- Give your module a title like "Store Locator"
- In the Custom Output field, paste your Storepoint embed code
- Set the Position to where you want the locator (e.g., "main-content")
- Under Show Title, select "Hide" if you don't want the title visible
- Save the module
Make sure your Joomla text filters allow script tags. Go to Content → Articles → Options → Text Filters and ensure your user group (Super Users) is set to "No Filtering".
Step 3: Assign to a Page
- In the module settings, go to the Menu Assignment tab
- Select "Only on the pages selected"
- Choose your store locator page
- Save the module
That's it! 🙌
Alternative: Embed in an Article
You can also embed directly in a Joomla article:
- Create a new article in Content → Articles → New
- In the editor, switch to Source Code or HTML view
- Paste your Storepoint embed code
- Save the article
If your code gets stripped when saving, go to Plugins → TinyMCE and remove "script" and "iframe" from the "Prohibited Elements" list.
