How does territory management work?
With Spotlight on the Business plan, you draw regions on a map and create rules for how dealers appear in each one. You can show only specific dealers (exclusive territories), boost certain dealers to the top while still showing others, or ensure regional partners always appear in results for their coverage area. Do territories have to be exclusive?
No. You have full control. Make territories exclusive if you want only assigned dealers to appear. Or use "boost" to feature specific dealers at the top while showing everyone else by distance. You can also "include" dealers in results for their service area without hiding others. Mix and match as needed.
Can dealers belong to multiple territories?
Yes. Include the same dealer in multiple regions. This is useful for dealers who serve overlapping areas, border regions, or have coverage that spans multiple territories.
What if a customer searches outside defined territories?
By default, they'll see results sorted by distance. You can also create a rule for uncovered areas to show a message, suggest contacting you directly, or redirect to a contact form.
Can I highlight Premium or Certified dealers?
Yes. Use tags to categorize dealers by tier, certification, or specialty. Then boost premium dealers to the top of results in specific regions, or let customers filter by dealer type. Learn about filters and tags.
