Bulk Import Locations to Your Store Locator

Upload locations to your store locator from a CSV or Excel file. Quickly add all your locations at once.

Add multiple locations to your Storepoint store locator at once using our bulk import feature. Import from a CSV or Excel spreadsheet, and the import tool walks you through each step, from uploading your file to mapping columns.

How It Works

  1. Upload your CSV or Excel file
  2. Map your spreadsheet columns to Storepoint fields
  3. Preview how your data will look
  4. Import all locations at once

Storepoint handles geocoding automatically. Just provide the address and we'll pinpoint each location on the map.

Preparing Your Spreadsheet

You can use our template or your own spreadsheet.

Download a Template

Quick start template: includes all standard fields. Works without an account.

Download Template

Your account template: includes your custom fields if you've set any up.

Download from Dashboard

Note

Storepoint geocodes addresses for you, so the templates skip latitude and longitude. Add those columns yourself if you'd like to set exact coordinates. See Supported Fields.

Use Your Own Spreadsheet

Upload any CSV or Excel file and use the mapping system to match your columns to Storepoint fields.

Basic Requirements

  • First row should contain column headers
  • Include at least name and address details for each location. You can use name and address column headers or your own naming, then map them during import.
  • Save as CSV (.csv) or Excel (.xlsx, .xls)

For field formatting details, see Supported Fields.

Uploading Your File

  1. Go to Import Locations
  2. Drag and drop your file, or click to browse
  3. Wait for the file to process

Once uploaded, you'll see a summary showing how many locations were found and which columns Storepoint detected.

Mapping Columns

After uploading, you'll map your spreadsheet columns to Storepoint fields.

Automatic Mapping

Storepoint automatically detects common column names. If your spreadsheet has columns like name, address, phone, or email, they'll be mapped automatically.

Manual Mapping

For columns that weren't auto-mapped, select a Storepoint field to map them to. You can also choose to ignore columns you don't want to import. The mapping page shows each column name along with a sample value from your file.

Combining Columns optional

Map multiple columns to the same Storepoint field and they combine automatically. For example, map both location type and products available to the tags field and Storepoint merges the values into a single tag list per location. Works with any field. Choose how to separate combined values (space, comma, or dash).

Transformation Rules optional

Tweak data during import without editing your spreadsheet. Add a rule like "if Country is empty, set it to United States" or append values to fields based on another column.

Saving Mapping Presets optional

Import from the same source often? Save your mapping as a preset. Next time you upload a file with matching columns, Storepoint detects your preset and skips the mapping step.

Supported Fields

The following fields are available for import. Only Name and Address are required, everything else is optional.

Required: name, address

Optional: description, city, state, zip/postal, country, phone, email, website, image url, monday through sunday (hours), facebook, instagram, twitter/x, tags, latitude, longitude

The address field can contain the full address (e.g., 123 Main St, Boston, MA 02101, USA). The city, state, zip/postal, and country fields are available if your existing data has these in separate columns, but they're not required if your address is complete.

Store Hours

Use columns for each day: monday, tuesday, wednesday, thursday, friday, saturday, sunday.

Use a simple format like 9:00am - 5:00pm or Closed. If a location has a break (like a lunch closure), separate the time ranges with a comma: 9:00am - 12:00pm, 1:00pm - 5:00pm.

See the Opening Hours guide for all supported formats and display options.

Tags

Use a tags column to categorize locations for filtering. Enter tags as a comma-separated list:

Coffee, WiFi, Parking, Drive-Thru

Include all relevant tags for each location in a single cell.

Tip

Just include your tags for now. You can organize them into filter groups later in your dashboard. Learn more about filters and tags.

Images

The image_url field accepts a direct link to an image file. Images display on your locations in the locator.

Getting image URLs:

  • From your website: Right-click an image and select "Copy image address"
  • From image hosts: Services like Cloudinary provide direct image URLs

Example: https://example.com/images/store-photo.jpg

Coordinates

Storepoint geocodes each location from the address you provide. Got specific coordinates already? Add latitude and longitude columns and Storepoint uses those instead.

Custom Fields

If you've set up custom fields, they'll appear in the mapping dropdown under "Custom Fields". Download the template from your dashboard to see the exact column names for your custom fields.

After Importing

Once your import completes:

  1. Your locations appear in the Manage Locations page
  2. They're immediately visible in your locator widget
  3. You can edit any location individually if needed
Tip

After importing, go to Tags & Filters to organize your tags into filter groups. This lets customers filter locations in your locator by category, service, or any other criteria.

Common Questions

Do I need to update my embed code after importing?

No. Once you've embedded the Storepoint widget on your website, it automatically shows your latest locations. Import new locations anytime and they'll appear in your locator immediately.

Is there a limit to how many locations I can import?

The limit depends on your plan. Check your account settings for details.

What if I need to update locations regularly?

For ongoing updates, consider syncing with a Google Sheet. It automatically updates your locator whenever your spreadsheet changes, no manual imports needed. See Google Sheets Sync for full details.

My spreadsheet format doesn't match the template. Can I still import?

Yes. Upload your spreadsheet as-is and use the column mapping feature to match your columns to Storepoint fields. You can also save your mapping as a preset for future imports.
